Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC)
Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) authorisations (replacing the previous PPC authorisations) are one of the many areas of legislation, consolidated in the Environmental Permitting Regulations (2010, amended 2011), which aim to deal with contaminated land, and the appropriate disposal of waste.
IPPC manages the processes of significant industrial sites by regulating site operations and types of plant used, as well as requiring regulation and monitoring of process emissions.
At the time an IPPC permit is surrendered, operators have the burden of proving an absence of residual site contamination.
PBA can help with IPPC compliance during the life cycle of the permit, and during surrender. PBA have a track record of independent verification and audit following IPPC surrender, as well as the implementation of remediation solutions to meet the requirements of IPPC.
